Özet: Kingdom gerçekten de 'kült' tanımını hakeden bir yapım. Gerek karakterleri, gerek konusu, gerek olay örgüsü, gerekse mizah anlayışı bakımından bu tanımı hakediyor. Efsaneye göre yönetmen Lars von Trier'i arkadaşları "Oğlum, sen entel dantel adamsın. Sıradan halkın seyredeceği bir şey çekemezsin." diyerek gaza getirirler. Yönetmenimiz de soluğu Danimarka televizyonunda alır. Kanalla 15 bölümlük bir dizi anlaşması yapar. Dizinin yayına başlamasıyla birlikte arkadaşlarını da haksız çıkarmış olur. Zira tüm halk televizyonları başına kilitlenir. 1994'te çektiği 4 bölümün ardından 1997'de de 4 bölüm çeker. Etki yine aynıdır. Ancak dizinin tamamlanması için çekilmesi gereken 5 bölüm hiçbir zaman çekilemez. Çünkü Stig Helmer karakterini oynayan oyuncu ölmüştür. Peki madem ki bu dizi bu denli görkemli bir yapım, yönetmen dijital efektlerden ve bilgisayar teknolojisinin nimetlerinden yararlanarak bu adamı sanal olarak canlandıramaz mı? Başka bir yönetmen olsaydı belki diyebilirdik ancak söz konusu kişi Dogma 95 akımının öncüsü olan Lars von Trier olduğunda imkansız demek bile yetersiz kalır. Bu durumda yapabileceğimiz tek şey var olan 8 bölümü seyretmek ve çekilmeyen 5 bölüm için üzülmek. Umarım siz de en az benim aldığım kadar keyif alır ve eğlenirsiniz.
